PSN and Qriocity Password Reset Page is Down
0Many people seem to be speculating as to whether or not PSN has been hacked again but according to Sony, they have not.
According to the Playstation‘s Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Social Media on the Official Blog, his report is as follows.
We temporarily took down the PSN and Qriocity password reset page. Contrary to some reports, there was no hack involved. In the process of resetting of passwords there was a URL exploit that we have subsequently fixed.
Consumers who haven’t reset their passwords for PSN are still encouraged to do so directly on their PS3. Otherwise, they can continue to do so via the website as soon as we bring that site back up.
Before you jump to any conclusions be sure to, if you have not already, reset your passwords manually on your systems until the site is back up. The security of your personal information should always come first, be it with a large company or an individual rooting around for backdoors and exposed loopholes and exploits.

NEA says Video Games are Art
2
I’m sure we’ve all heard the story about how famous film critic Roger Ebert stuck his foot in his mouth by declaring that Video Games were not and could never be art. Today he will be forced to eat his words as the National Endowment for the Arts has selected Video Games as an art form that is eligible for funding from the United States government. The debate over what constitutes art is not a new one, but recently it has flourished in a world full of new and different forms of creativity. Needless to say, this decision on the part of the NEA is a rather big one that lends credence to the possibility that these new forms of media can and in many cases should be considered forms of art. So how did this landmark take place? Well, rather quietly actually.
When the NEA updated their 2012 radio and television guidelines, they decided to open up the reach of possible applicants by adding a slew of new media formats to the list. Under the new guidelines, they have opened up their federally funded grants to “all available media platforms such as the internet, interactive and mobile technologies, digital games, arts content delivered via satellite, as well as on radio and television.” So what does all of this mean? Well, it means that media such as Video Games can now compete for federal funding just as television and radio have been doing for decades. The most famous use of this funding over the years has of course been made by PBS, The Public Broadcasting System, which has brought fine and intellectually stimulating programming to the public free of charge for several decades.
Given how entrenched both radio and television are in the process of garnering said grants, it will surely be a challenge for any game developer to convince the government that their project is worth funding. However, the mere fact that the NEA has opened up their definitions to include Video Games signifies the importance of the medium in American culture as an art form, and that distinction alone is an important step forward for the future of Video Games. Do you hear that crunching sound? It’s the sound of Roger Ebert eating his words.
